Holiday DIY: Wreath Making Workshop

Three chances to join us for our most popular workshop of the year!

Class will start with a demonstration of making a wreath and then helping students construct their own wreaths. There will also be a short session on making bows to fit the wreath.

Students will be supplied with wreath frames, wire, assorted greens and accent cuttings, ribbon for bows and some ornaments. Ornaments and ribbon can be brought by students to fit their own decor. Gloves will be available to borrow, but feel free to bring your own.

What to bring with you: Ornaments, decorations or greenery of your own that you want to incorporate into the wreath.

Gayle Macy, the new Treasurer of the Friends of the Conservatory! Long time board member! Gayle has taught 2 wreath making classes for the FOC last year, and formerly, while managing a silk flower store for 7 years, did extensive work decorating & lighting, trees, wreaths and garlands for sale or display. Also decorated large office buildings and private homes with Christmas decor for 3 years. Board Member Chris Peterson and Jeanne Strawn will also be there to assist for Gayle’s classes

Ann Anderson has done arts and crafts her whole life, including projects for Hallmark and Nordstrom. Her seasonal wreaths are made up entirely of all natural materials including sphagnum moss and lichen, dried flowers and gathered greens. Though beginners are welcome, this class will be most enjoyable to those with some arts and crafts experience.
