May 6th – EFFLORESCENCE: THE SYLVAN SERIES

The Sylvan Series presents “Efflorescence”
Saturday, May 6 at 7 PM – 10 PM

The Sylvan Series continues at the Volunteer Park Conservatory, and it just keeps getting better and better!

EFFLORESCENCE

noun
1. the state or a period of flowering.
2. an example or result of growth and development:
These works are the efflorescence of his genius.

Once again we set sail for an exploration in light and sound as Lusio takes over the Volunteer Park Conservatory with light art and electronic music. This is an experience like no other in the Seattle area.
Mutliple light artists will be creating and placing installations throughout the Conservatory.
Wander and watch the plants come to life at night with light art. Stop at the Bromeliad House Wine Bar for a sip for swing through the Seasonal House where the music will be going for a bop and a sway.
This is one of the few times you are able to enter the Conservatory at night and it’s an entirely new adventure!

Julius Brown
Fern House Projection/Fabric Installation

Julius creates lush visual imagery via what may be considered rather covert and cryptic methods. His process begins with the development, over more than a decade, of mysterious and complex computer languages. He then feeds them color and molds the output into intricate, organic patterns that evoke the movement of music. Using this technology-generated visual vocabulary, he transforms his “visuals” into works that span performance, video installation, print, and fabric.

Mokedo

Mokedo (owner of Lusio) will be taking over the Cactus House with lighting meant to transform the space using only light, color, and cacti.

STAY TUNED AS WE ADD MANY MORE ARTISTS TO THE ROSTER!!

Pezzner

David Brian Pezzner was born in Tarzana, California in 1975 and currently lives in Seattle, Washington. He is 5 foot 7 inches in height and weighs about 165 lbs.
In 2010 he wrote an album of music which was released by Freerange records. David spoke only English and cooked meals for his family every day until 2013 when a company called Systematic Recordings contracted him for another album.
Besides writing music for night clubs and headphones, Pezzner composes music for vision and function, and teaches electronic music writing concepts to anyone who will pay him money. He sleeps exactly like any other man but, as you will no doubt have noticed, he is not an orthodox painter of the old school, but rather a modern artist. A designer.
