New Gift Shop Manager

We’re happy to announce the arrival of our new Gift Shop Manager

Kelsey Melville!

Kelsey brings over a decade of experience in museum and nonprofit operations, retail and employee management, and art + design. She is looking forward to making big changes at the Palm House Gift Shop and making it an even more impactful part of the Seattle community.

Previously, Kelsey served as the Gift Shop Director at Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle. Prior to moving to Seattle, she worked for the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, NC for five years, and at the North Carolina Museum of Art Gift Shop for three years.

In her free time, Kelsey loves getting out into nature, traveling, and creating art. She is thrilled to work at the Volunteer Park Conservatory as it is one of her favorite places to visit and gain inspiration from. Her favorite part of the Conservatory is the Cactus House, as much of her own artwork has a Southwest feel.

Kelsey is excited to create a fresh new look and feel to the Palm House Gift Shop, and feels honored to uphold the legacy of this historic landmark.

Please stop by and say hello! She would love to hear about your experiences and ideas for the Palm House Gift shop.
