President’s Message

Hello Friends,

ValentinesI was amazed at the turn out and ambiance at our Valentine’s Day Cocktail event! The sellout crowd and enchanting Conservatory displays made it an unforgettable evening. Attendees enjoyed the boutique cocktails courtesy of The Hardware Distillery along with tasty hors d’oeuvre as an appetizer for their romantic evening.

And I continued to be amazed with our Restoration Donors Thank You event. The community passion and spirit behind the Conservatory that has make its restoration a reality is a breathtaking thing to behold. Thank you to each donor that made this vision a reality! I would also like to thank our partner, the Seattle Parks Foundation, for their expert management of our capitol campaign.

Our Annual Meeting will be held on March 20th this year, a bit earlier than the last several years. Please join us for our business meeting. It will be held in the Seasonal House starts at 5 PM. All are welcome!

Looking forward to Mother’s day? We have you covered; our Spring Plant Sale is the day before Mother’s Day, Saturday, May 10th. Membership has its benefits; Members are able to enter the sale at 9 AM, Non-Members enjoy the regular hours of 10 – 3 PM.

Spring is in the air, and at the Conservatory as well! While the weather has been randomly ½ damp & ½ sunny for the last several weeks, the Conservatory Collection is ramping up to a tremendous display. The Cactus and Succulents will be in peak flower display in the next several weeks. Additionally, the tropical rhododendron (Vireya) are blooming up a colorful storm in the Fern & Bromeliad Houses.

Thank you for supporting the Friends of the Conservatory.
