As much as we are loathe to admit it, the days are getting shorter, and summer is coming to a close. With this comes the end of Volunteer Park Conservatory’s summer hours which we have been lucky to have since spring.
Visitors have been able to peruse the display houses until 7:00 pm, but beginning October 1st, normal operating hours will resume; Tuesday – Sunday from 10 am – 4:00 pm.
There’s still time to visit the Conservatory in the evening for the next few weeks, so please take advantage while you can. The brugmansia blooming in the Fern House are fragrant only in the evening, and should definitely not be missed.
Summer hours at Volunteer Park Conservatory were piloted for the first time in 2013, after budget cuts restricted operating hours in 2009. If you enjoy visiting the Conservatory on long Summer nights, you can help by telling the Seattle City Council about your experience.
