The FOC is pleased to welcome our newest employee, Chrissa Nordquist.
Chrissa is taking over the role of Gift Shop Director in the Palm House Gift Shop, replacing Claire Woodward who capably helmed the position for the past two years.
Chrissa brings over 20 years of retail, buying, and management experience, and is looking forward to the challenges of managing a shop for a non-profit organization.
Originally from Wisconsin, Chrissa graduated University Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art in 1992. She moved to Seattle in 1998. Previously Chrissa served as the gift shop director for the Edgewater Hotel. She also opened and managed her own wine bar and gallery in the Pike/Pine corridor and knows the Capitol Hill neighborhood well.
Chrissa and her husband bought a home in Shoreline two years ago, shared with a cat and dog, and Chrissa’s art studio. You can learn more about her artwork on her website: http://chrissaarazny.com
In her free time, Chrissa enjoys spending time outdoors; gardening, taking walks and swimming. She is looking forward to continuing the energy and drive of the Palm House Gift Shop, as well as exploring new methods of merchandising.
We will certainly miss Claire, but we wish her well, and know that the shop will be in good hands under Chrissa’s leadership.
So please stop by and say hello! She will be working during the week Wednesdays through Saturdays.
